															Hi! I'm Tom Booker!
I started studying improv in Chicago in 1986 at The Second City Training Center in Chicago. While in Chicago, I studied with Del Close at The ImprovOlympic, helped start The Annoyance Theatre, and was part of the legendary improv group Blue Velveeta.
I moved to Los Angeles in the early 90s, where I was the co-founder of another legendary group, Theatre-A-Go-Go!, co-wrote and co-directed a feature film that premiered at The Sundace Film Festival, and acted in about 80 commercials, a few movies and a handful of television shows.
In 2001, I started teaching improv, sketch writing, and commercial audition classes at The Second City Training Center in Los Angeles. In 2007, I moved from LA to Austin and opened a theater and improv school called The Institution Theater which flourished until I had to close it down because of the pandemic.
The pandemic gone but I’m still here, and I would like to help you pursue your dreams. Please let me know if you have any questions about me or any of my classes.
I hope you are having a great day!
